Dining on the Disney Wish: 1923

Grab your sequins, feathers, and fringe for this next blog post! We're ending our rotational dining series with 1923 a roaring tribute to the year when the Walt Disney Company was founded. 

1923's cuisine is an elegant tribute to the company's profound legacy, it's a nod to Roy and Walt, a glowing salute to some of our favorite works of animation, and a celebration of California Cuisine. 

If this is your last dining adventure on your rotational dining schedule, I recommend ending your cruise with this chef's kiss. The food is so gorgeously presented and the flavors are impeccable. This is everything you need to know about dining at 1923. 

When you walk in you're greeted by gorgeous animations on the screen and a fine dining nostalgia that seems lost at regular establishments. It's like stepping back in time and with portholes to look out on the fantastic view of what's going outside is so cool to witness. The restaurant sets the stage for the golden age of Hollywood with a childlike sense of wonder that only Disney can produce. The rooms have over 1,000 animations on the walls From Snow White to Frozen!

Much like a lot of the rotational dining restaurants, this menu is no different, it features a diverse and unique blend of Asian, European, and South American cuisines and pays tribute to local ingredients like fresh produce, wild honey, and earthy pistachios.

  • Alameda Porcini Spiced Ahi Tuna Pickled Lotus Root, Oyster Mushroom, Black Sesame Brittle, Wasabi & Yuzu Mayonnaise

  • Hyperion Four-Cheese Tri-Color Tortelloni Meyer Lemon, Artichoke, Sun-dried Tomato, Baby Spinach

    I must confess we the tri-color tortelloni lives in my head rent-free now. It was so creamy, so tangy, and so unbelievably packed with a punch of flavor in every bite. I cannot wait to get back on the Disney Wish to enjoy this dish again!

    • Kingswell Duck Confit Pastilla Dates, Apricot, Ginger, Red Pepper, Saffron, Black Raspberry Jam
      This Pastilla had the flavors of Morroco with apricot, saffron, and black raspberry jam. On the inside, there are these gorgeous, delicious pine nuts that really tie this all together! 
The flavor story continues to paint a gorgeous portrait of Californian cuisine. There's a salad, soup, and bread course to enjoy along with these delectable appetizers.

  • Pulled Guinea Hen Corn Chowder Yukon Gold Potato, Cilantro, Smoked Bacon

    I enjoyed the corn chowder, it was rich, smoky, and felt like a hug in a bowl.
